About the Bel Canto Scholarship

Singers between the ages of 10 and 25 who can demonstrate vocal potential and financial need are invited to apply for The Bel Canto Scholarship, an initiative that supports students with limited financial means to continue their vocal study.

Applications are accepted year round. For spring semester consideration, applications must be received by January 15th and for fall semester, by September 15th annually. Award announcements are made via email no later than January 30th and September 30th.

Applicants must be a current or prospective student of a Central Florida Vocal Arts’ approved voice teacher.^* Prospective students must have secured a lesson time with that teacher.

If you are not already in a voice studio and need to secure a private voice teacher to be eligible for this opportunity, you can submit a CFVA Studio student interest form for consideration: New Student Inquiry Form

The scholarship will pay $25 of a voice lesson fee for 12 lessons ($300 total scholarship) directly to the student’s indicated voice teacher. The student is financially responsible for paying the remaining balance directly to their voice teacher. CFVA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY UNPAID STUDENT BALANCES. Lessons must be observed within the award semester or the funds must be returned and forfeited to Central Florida Vocal Arts.

* CFVA approved voice teacher: A voice teacher with vetted credentials and with an approved W-9 and proof of clean background check on file with CFVA. New teachers are accepted on a rolling basis. Please contact Education@CentralFloridaVocalArts.org with any questions.

Letter of recommendation: to be considered, please have your current music or voice teacher email a letter of recommendation (no longer than 2 pages) or a video recommendation (no longer than 2 minutes) directly to scholarships@centralfloridavocalarts.org. Use a Google Drive or YouTube link for a video recommendation.

I understand that my scholarship award will be paid directly to my voice teacher and that I am responsible for paying the remaining balance to my teacher or studio per the arrangements I make with them. If offered a scholarship, I agree to reply within 3 days.
